How to Make Extra Money for Debt Relief
59Even if you are already working a full time job, it is possible to make extra money to go towards debt relief without actually getting a second job. The following are some ideas that can bring in significant extra cash.
Sell Household Items
You don’t need to sell everything, just the things you don’t really need, or toys that are keeping you in serious debt. Boats, RVs, weekend motorcycles and jet skis are some toys that people hang onto even if they don’t use them often. Now is the time to sell them and pay off what you owe. You can always buy them back once you are debt free (and pay cash).
Have a garage sale and offer quality items you can part with that you know someone will buy such as wall art, furniture, lamps, quilts, camping equipment or even Christmas decorations. You’d be surprised what folks will buy and it will give you a good chunk of change for debt relief.
Instead of a garage sale, you can sell items on Ebay or Craigslist if you’re willing to do the extra work involved.
Sell Your Hobby
For some of you creative people out there, you can make extra money with your craft. Do you quilt or sew? Seasonal or holiday table runners and baby quilts are always popular any time of year. Items can be sold online through Ebay or Etsy, or locally in craft fairs and other markets. This applies to any craft including painting, woodwork, jewelry, candles, ceramics and so on. This list is unlimited.
Your hobby can turn into a steady stream of additional income for something you’re already doing.
Writing for Dollars
Even though I am a quilter, I choose to make extra money by writing. Quilting is something I do sporadically, so trying to make money from it wouldn’t be worthwhile. Writing is something I do regardless through journaling, so I might as well capitalize on it.
Blogging is the way to go because there’s no major effort or cost involved in setting up a site. There are plenty of places online to share your writing and make money while you’re doing it through Google Adsense and affiliate marketing. I have several article sites using Wordpress and have ventured into Hubpages recently (love the Hub!) Squidoo and Ezine Articles are other great platforms to broaden your writing footprint on the Internet.
My income is increasing every month and my plan for 2011 is to take every dollar and put it toward debt relief until that debt is gone. A warning: writing for dollars takes time. If this is something that interests you, be prepared to be patient and give it a good year or so before deciding if it is working or not.
Please comment if you’ve been successful in other ways to make extra money!

Great hub. Most people dismiss any way to make money besides a 9 to 5, and hopefully that mindset will change in the near future. People can't afford to be stubborn anymore.
great info. Happy New year to you.
smart ideas!
Great ideas..... I should earn from a hobby... I love music and could give beginner guitar lessens and have fun at the same time.. thanks
These are great ideas for making some quick cash. You could do other quick jobs, like write for textbroker.com or work the polls on election day.
No, it is a long day, and there is training beforehand. It doesn't pay much, but it does pay. It is great for the retired and the unemployed, but people who are employed can take a vacation day and get some extra money in as well.
